Job Listings – How to Find the Perfect Job for You

Before even looking for a new job, you must understand how to find a job that you will absolutely love. With so many different jobs out there to choose from, you need to be able to find the perfect one for you.

You may look great in a designer suit, but when the interview time comes, you discover that you absolutely hate the people in the company. Understanding what you want and finding the best job for your personality is the key to job satisfaction. If you hate your work, the job will not be there for you. If you are a people person, you will not last long in an office environment.

Don’t take the job simply because it is within reason. Use your intuition and gut feeling. Just because a job is offered to you doesn’t mean that it is the right fit for you. If you are asked in for an interview, you need to be able to walk away knowing you would not be happy in that environment. While your skills may be adequate for the job, there is no reason to take it.

You should also consider how the company feels about you. Does the potential employer want someone who will make a positive contribution to their company? Or does the company want someone who they can fire or assign to a project to get them motivated and the idea of getting something new out of their work life.

Being able to understand the personalities of the people in the company and being able to fit into their world will get you much farther in your interview than someone who is completely wrong for the job because they want something different.

Someone who is looking for something different in their work life could take a job in the legal field, where they will be around lawyers and other legal professionals all day, and be miserable. Someone who is looking for a job as a personal trainer is unlikely to last a week in that job, unless they are the most outgoing person in the office. Job Listings

Experience and education can also be used to determine whether a potential employee is the right fit for the company. If you are the mother of three small children and all of them are in college, it may not be fair for you to expect to fit into a job environment where mobility is limited.Put yourself in the position of a hiring manager and ask yourself this question: If I had a candidate here today and said that they would be the first to come in for an interview with little to no relevant experience, who would you hire?

Many people would hire the candidate who had experience. A doctor, lawyer, or accountant might be more apt to choose someone with education and experience. A carpenter or manufacturer may prefer a carpenter who has been to school. Job Listings

Some professors emphasize that in order to be considered for a teaching position, you need to have a Ph.D. Most bar associations will require this, although, in some states, bartenders can get a license without a ThB or RN degree. Although you may think that bartending would be an easy job, you may be surprised. There is a lot more to bartending than just pouring drinks, preparing garnishes, and dealing with customers.

In the past, bartending was not a “highly-paid” position, but this is no longer the case. The need for bartenders is still there, just not as much as before. Although making no tips is unlikely, an bartender may have to put in a lot of hours to earn any amount of tips.

If you are looking for a job and you happen to be considering bartending as a career option, just make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Since you will be dealing with people night after night, you need to have a firm stomach and have a firm table. When you go to an establishment where you may get tipsy, you need to be able to deal with customers who may become angry or lash out at you. You also need to have a firm attitude, since your job relies on honest behavior from the customers, some of whom can be irate and difficult to deal with.

If you don’t have those skills and you end up in a job where you don’t drink, you will quickly learn that the only way you can advance past a basic position is by moving up the ladder. No one is promoted in a family unless the father is a successful lawyer or the mother is a human resources manager. If you can’t deal with customers, you need to go home. Job Listings

While bartending can be a rewarding career job for many people, it is not for everyone. If you are wondering if bartending is for you, do some background research on the job before you commit to it. Talk to your local barbershop and ask if they have any positions available.
