All CD's are 100 Poems CD $25 + $5 S & H Check or Money Order 674 OUR FIRST COLD MORN Rising like a cloud of jewels on a cold Fall day the shimmering crystals of dew form a halo Morning breaks the silence of a long dark night as two Lights race by seeking their destination and rest Frost sits atop the metal monsters waiting to roar as Fingernails scrape till they’re full and frozen anew Gloves hidden in some forgotten place laugh to Themselves as they snuggle together and sigh The thermometer stares back at its observer wondering Why it was left outside all night like an unwanted shoe Hands cupped together like a ball scream for the Warmth blown on them from lips expelling warmth like an oven Shivers run rampant as a glow in the east foretells of What is to come later like a gift promised but not delivered. The jacket passed by earlier by its owner waits on the Other side of the locked door closed only moments ago Decisions come slowly as the brain freezes in place and No movement can be seen during the passing of time Numbness descends like the flow of an iceberg until it Reaches its destination and each toe starts to curl A bleak stare at the frozen object a few feet away Hypnotizes like the pendulum of a clock that’s run down With great effort a hand opens the door enters places a Key in the switch starts the monster and drives off to work --------------------------------------------------- 23.
